Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette | Review and Swatches

My first foray into Too Faced makeup was with the Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette, with it's cutesy/gimmicky packaging, I wasn't quite sure what to expect- but it didn't disappoint!

With almost every neutral shade of shadow you'd need to get an epic smoky eye,
or even just a wash of gold over the lid for an effortless summer look, this palette get a thumbs up from me. It has a range of matte, glittery and shimmer shades, all buttery soft and pigmented. The fact that the palette has a sweet chocolate smell is an added bonus, but doesn't make the palette for me. It could also be improved with the addition of a matte black shade, but maybe that's just me, I like a black shade in every palette.

I've swatched my favourite shades below:

Left to Right: Gilded Ganache, Cherry Cordial, Amaretto, Haute Chocolate, Creme Brulee, Black Forest Truffle, Marzipan, Champagne Truffle

The standout shade for me in the palette is 'Creme Brulee', a beautiful bronze gold with amazing colour payoff. Pressed onto the centre of the lid to finish off a look or used all over for a hi-def glow, it's a gorgeous colour that suits a huge array of looks.

'Champagne Truffle', the large shimmer shade on the bottom row is great used as a highlight on the brow bone, inner corners of the eyes and even on the cheeks!

Bottom line, if you're like me and find yourself reaching for bronzes and golds more often than not when doing your eyeshadow, you may need this palette! Definitely give it a swatch next time you're in a Debenhams store! The Chocolate Bar Palette is £39 and available HERE online.
